Description

At many bbq joints across the South, white bbq sauce is a staple. Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur, Alabama has made it famous and this recipe is from the cookbook. Usually a mayonnaise based sauce, made tangy with vinegar. This recipe could be modified for all food allergies, however it is probably better made as the recipe indicates. Once you try this you may never go back to traditional red bbq sauces again.

  • Ingredients

2 cups mayonnaise (could substitute a dairy free, egg free version)

    1 cup distilled white vinegar

    1/2 cup apple juice

    2 teaspoons prepared horseradish

    2 teaspoons ground black pepper

    2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • Methods / Steps
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and blend well. Use as a marinade, baste or dipping sauce. Store in a refrigerated airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
