This allergy friendly and healthy diet alternative for your next barbcue could be on tonight's menu. Spicy and flavorful. This recipe can be made wheat allergy, milk allergy, soy allergy, peanut allergy, tree nut allergy friendly. Choose your ingredients carefully.


  • Ingredients

    1 pound ground turkey

    1/2 cup chopped onion

    1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

    1 chipotle chile in adobo sauce, chopped (please check brands as this sometimes contains wheat)

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon onion powder

    1 teaspoon seasoned salt

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    4 slices of pepper jack cheese (or favorite chese/cheese subsititute - can also be omitted)

    4 gluten free buns or cleaned iceberg lettuce leafs 

  • Methods / Steps
    Preheat outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Be sure to lightly oil the grate so that the ground turkey does not stick. Combine ground turkey, onion, cilantro, chipotle chili pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.

    Cook the turkey burgers until they are no longer pink in the center, approximately 4 minutes per side. Lay the pepper jack cheese on the patty 2 minutes prior to serving.

    Serve on Gluten Free buns or iceberg lettuce (wrap)
