Gluten Free

Description

Many meatloaf recipes call for bread crumbs. This gluten free meatloaf recipe uses oats in its place, keeping it moist and hearty. Recipe is gluten free, wheat free, milk free, soy free. Make a lighter version by using ground turkey instead of ground beef. Prep time is approximately 10 minutes. Total cook time is 40 minutes.

  • Ingredients

1 1/2 - 2 lbs grass fed, lean ground beef or turkey

    1/2 large white onion

    1 - 2 tbs ketchup

    1- 2 tbs mustard

2 - 3 tbs Lee & Perrins (Gluten Free) Steak Sauce (Could substitute Lee & Perrins Worcestershire, but their steak sauce is kicks the meatloaf up a notch)

    2 eggs

3/4 cup gluten free oats (I used Trader Joe's Gluten Free Rolled Oats)

    1 tsp salt

    1 tsp pepper

  • Methods / Steps
Place ground meat in a bowl and add ketchup, mustard, steak sauce, eggs, chopped onion, salt, pepper and oats. Mix well with clean hands and form into a loaf. Place in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes. Remove and let stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
